About

Marine Corps Gen. Christopher J. Mahoney was sworn in as the 13th vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff on Oct. 1, 2025. Previously, he served as the 37th Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps. A native of South Weymouth, Massachusetts, Mahoney is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross. He completed The Basic School and Infantry Officer’s Course at Quantico, Virginia.
