On September 28, 2025, Assistant Secretary of War for International Security Affairs Daniel Zimmerman met with Israel Ministry of Defense Director General Amir Baram to co-chair the Defense Policy Advisory Group (DPAG), an annual, high-level defense dialogue that establishes priority issues in our strategic defense relationship. Since 1999, the DPAG has played an important role in advancing the U.S.-Israel defense and security partnership.
The dialogue reaffirmed the enduring partnership between Israel and the United States, and the U.S. commitment to Israel's Qualitative Military Edge. The two leaders discussed the threat still posed by Iran and its destabilizing activities across the region. Assistant Secretary Zimmerman reaffirmed the United States' commitment to Israel's security and underscored Israel's example as a model ally willing to invest in its own defense and future security.
