Meredith L. Wallace

Deputy Assistant Secretary of War for Cyber Operations Policy

Meredith Wallace is the Deputy Assistant Secretary of War for Cyber Operations Policy. In this role she is responsible for establishing DoW cyber operations policy and executing the implementation of the DoW cyber strategy.

Prior to joining the DoW, Ms. Wallace led Operations and served as a Chief of Staff at General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), first in the Homeland Security Sector, and later in direct support of the Chief Growth Officer. Prior to GDIT, Ms. Wallace was contracted to the Office of the Undersecretary of War for Acquisition & Sustainment (OUSW A&S) where she operated as Senior Advisor to the Director of Cyber Warfare. In 2021, she joined an early startup focused on emerging technology, great power competition, supply chain resilience, and cyber threat intelligence. In this role she built the company’s commercial intelligence product line and recruited, trained, and led a team of analysts. The startup was profitable in its first quarter and successfully acquired by a cybersecurity threat intelligence company a year later.

Ms. Wallace has prior federal service in the DoW and U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in various intelligence and operations roles. She served on the Secretary of Homeland Security’s staff from 2018-2021 where she facilitated daily operations and intelligence briefings, coordinating across all components of the DHS enterprise. She also accepted a detail to the newly formed Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) in 2019, serving as the operations and intelligence lead for the Cybersecurity Division. In this role she cultivated the Agency’s intelligence and operations information sharing cadence between senior cyber leaders in the Intelligence Community and DoW.

Ms. Wallace began her career in Naval Intelligence where she had the opportunity to serve as the sole SIGINT targeter and voice of her agency to an international, interagency fusion cell in the Middle East.

She holds a B.S. degree from the U.S. Naval Academy where she participated on the Varsity Women’s Rowing team.
