Jim Robertson serves as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of War for Global Investment and Economic Security. In this role, he is the principal advisor to the Assistant Secretary of War for Industrial Base Policy on matters related to defense industrial base security; investment tools; foreign investment reviews; defense industry mergers, acquisitions, and consolidations; and related national security matters.

Mr. Robertson brings extensive experience in national security policy, international relations, and Congressional policymaking. He previously served as a Professional Staff Member on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, where he provided critical oversight and monitored major intelligence programs and agencies. He also previously served as Chief of Staff at the United States Mission to the United Nations within the Department of State.

Prior to his role at the USUN, Mr. Robertson served as Deputy Chief of Staff and National Security Advisor for a member of elected leadership in the U.S. House of Representatives. He is also a noncommissioned Officer in the U.S. Army Reserve, with a record of military service that includes mobilizations both domestically and overseas.

Mr. Robertson holds a Master of Business Administration from Liberty University and is currently pursuing a Master of Military Operational Art and Science at the U.S. Air Force Command and Staff College. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
