Press Events Secretary of War HON Pete Hegseth

The secretary will travel to Doral, Florida, to host the inaugural Americas Counter Cartel Conference at the U.S. Southern Command headquarters. Like-minded regional defense and security leaders from the Caribbean, Central America, and South America will attend. Secretary Hegseth will also travel to Tampa, Florida, to visit U.S. Central Command headquarters.

The secretary and U.S. Central Command Commander Admiral Brad Cooper will hold an on-camera press briefing at the CENTCOM headquarters at MacDill Air Force Base on March 5, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. EST.  The briefing will be livestreamed on War.gov, X, YouTube, and DVIDS. It will also air on Channel 2 in the Pentagon.
