The Department of War remains committed to supporting the many warfighters negatively impacted by the COVID-19 vaccine mandate and offering them every opportunity to return to service.
As part of our ongoing efforts to address injustices and make the reinstatement process smoother, the Under Secretary of War for Personnel and Readiness has shared additional guidance with the Secretaries of the Military Departments on the COVID-19 reinstatement process. Please find this guidance attached. It outlines efforts to:
- Facilitate communication with reinstatement applicants;
- Implement enhancements and improve the experiences of these applicants at Military Entrance Processing Stations;
- Evaluate broader remedies related to the COVID-19 vaccination mandate; and
- Conduct an objective, comprehensive review of COVID-19 vaccine policy decisions.
Under the leadership of Secretary Hegseth and Honorable Tata, the Department will continue to prioritize transparency and the well-being of those who have served, and ensure that we make things right for our warfighters.
