General Officer Announcements

March 9, 2015

Secretary of Defense Ash Carter announced today that the president has made the following nominations:

Marine Corps Reserve Brig. Gen. Burke Whitman has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Whitman is currently serving as deputy commanding general, II Marine Expeditionary Force (Mobilization), Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

Marine Corps Reserve Col. Michael F. Fahey III has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Fahey is currently serving as the commanding officer of Intelligence Support Battalion, New Orleans, Louisiana.
