HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – Base officials recognized the installation’s Family Child Care Provider of the Year during a presentation here May 3.

Sara Ramon received the award for her contributions to the installation and the families she supports as a licensed child care provider for Hanscom-connected families.

“Providers like Sara make our FCC program thrive, and she truly embodies everything we hope to offer our families here,” said Robin Morris, 66th Force Support Squadron community child care coordinator.

According to FSS officials, the program offers in-home care for children ages two weeks to 12 years, as well as alternative child care options with additional flexibility around family schedules.

Ramon was serving as a Key Spouse for the 66 FSS before becoming a provider in February 2021.

“Having that understanding of what military-connected families need made it easy for Sara to transition into FCC,” said Morris.

Morris said Ramon has also been a great asset to other providers in the Hanscom program.

“Sara takes an active role in building the community within our FCC program by helping educate and guide new providers,” said Morris. “She is kind and understanding, and a great example of how one can be a provider and support the mission through essential child care.”
