Ceremonial Honor

Army Staff Sgt. Jeffrey Rodick, the 2025 Cyber Center of Excellence Drill Sergeant of the Year, presents a cannon shell casing to Carmen Drake-Owens, the widow of Army Master Sgt. Gary I. Gordon, during a redesignation ceremony at Fort Gordon, Ga., Sept. 26, 2025. The installation's restored name honors the late soldier, who received a Medal of Honor for his valor during the 1993 Battle of Mogadishu in Somalia.
