The village was used during the Future Immersive Training Environment Joint Capability Technology Demonstration at Camp Pendleton, Calif. The training is a U.S. Joint Forces Command, Joint Capability Technology Demonstration virtual reality-based training system looking to improve team decision-making skills through realistic scenarios that challenge warfighters to read and react to situations and signals they may encounter on the battlefield. The warfighters encountered villagers, both friend and hostile, as well as dealt with critical situations similar to what they would encounter if deployed. The scenarios for the training were designed using real experiences as templates.
