Mr. Robert Brose is currently Performing the Duties of Assistant Secretary of War for Space Policy in the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Policy (USWP). In this capacity, he is responsible for overseeing formulation and implementation of defense policy and strategy for space security and for missile defense and defeat posture of the Department of War(DoW).
Mr. Brose most recently served as the Director of Cyber Intelligence at the National Security Council. Mr. Brose has also served as Lead for Special Projects at the United States Space Force’s Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Directorate. Prior to this, he held positions at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, including Deputy National Intelligence Officer for Cyber at the National Intelligence Council, Interagency Policy Coordinator, and Lead for Futures and Capability Development. Before this, he served as a civilian employee of the DoD and the Department of the Navy.
Mr. Brose has extensive experience crafting policies that advance U.S. security while preserving rights and freedoms of citizens; spearheading efforts to forecast and leverage scientific and technological trends for national security advantage; and bringing research and development to maturity as operational military and intelligence capability. He has contributed to U.S. defense policy through his work on issues in China and Southeast Asia; participated in high-level diplomatic dialogues and international partnerships; and has been invited to speak on national security issues in venues to include the National Academies, National Intelligence University, the International Conference on Cyber Conflict, the NATO School, and Zhongshan University. Mr. Brose is a graduate of Joint Forces Staff College, of the MIT Seminar XXI program, and he received his Masters of Arts from American University and earned a Bachelor of Arts from Cleveland State University.
