WEBVTT 00:09.760 --> 00:11.927 So here at the Health and fitness expo 00:11.927 --> 00:13.982 in support of the Air Force Marathon 00:13.982 --> 00:16.204 where all the participants in the races 00:16.204 --> 00:18.316 on Saturday are here to pick up their 00:18.316 --> 00:20.840 packets and just see a lot of different 00:20.840 --> 00:23.760 vendors and other fun things related to 00:23.760 --> 00:26.069 the race . And so it kicks off here 00:26.069 --> 00:28.291 with the Health and fitness expo at the 00:28.291 --> 00:30.513 Wright State University Nutter Center . 00:30.513 --> 00:32.569 We have our 5K , our kids run , uh , 00:32.569 --> 00:34.569 and then Saturday with with all the 00:34.569 --> 00:34.479 races we have that day and our Finish 00:34.479 --> 00:36.757 line festival . So it's a lot going on . 00:36.757 --> 00:38.923 We're much more than just a marathon , 00:38.923 --> 00:40.923 and we have a lot of fun doing it . 00:41.720 --> 00:44.119 That we're at the first race , which is 00:44.119 --> 00:47.569 the 1K uh tailwind trot and also the 00:47.569 --> 00:50.360 5K . So it starts off a whole lot of 00:50.360 --> 00:52.310 events for the next two days . 00:56.400 --> 00:58.456 This is my first tailwind trot , but 00:58.456 --> 01:00.678 I've heard all about it and that people 01:00.678 --> 01:02.789 really look forward to it and I think 01:02.789 --> 01:04.956 it's because it's so family friendly . 01:04.956 --> 01:07.067 There is obviously tailwind who's out 01:07.067 --> 01:09.067 there and and leading everybody and 01:09.067 --> 01:10.456 it's truly a fun event . 01:13.550 --> 01:15.661 So I'm actually running the Air Force 01:15.661 --> 01:17.717 half marathon with my mom tomorrow . 01:17.717 --> 01:19.828 It'll be her first half marathon , so 01:19.828 --> 01:19.430 excited to do that with her . And while 01:19.430 --> 01:21.597 I was in town , I decided to jump in a 01:21.597 --> 01:24.720 5K as well . Community support here is 01:24.720 --> 01:26.609 fantastic . I mean you always see 01:26.609 --> 01:28.720 people coming out for the marathons , 01:28.720 --> 01:28.559 but it's a Friday night right now . 01:28.610 --> 01:30.721 People could be doing anything and we 01:30.721 --> 01:32.777 had spectators lined the whole way . 01:32.777 --> 01:34.943 The energy was high the whole course , 01:34.943 --> 01:36.666 um , so fantastic experience . 01:40.370 --> 01:42.930 Last year I ran the half ran along with 01:42.930 --> 01:45.410 my wife , and so I'm running solo this 01:45.410 --> 01:47.577 year to run the full , so I'm going to 01:47.577 --> 01:50.129 get the whole experience and been 01:50.129 --> 01:52.240 training pretty hard to get ready for 01:52.240 --> 01:55.970 that longer distance . I was hoping in 01:55.970 --> 01:58.137 the back of my pocket I could win it , 01:58.137 --> 02:00.248 but like coming out here and actually 02:00.248 --> 02:02.290 doing it was amazing and um just 02:02.290 --> 02:04.512 knowing that you know my uncle was part 02:04.512 --> 02:06.623 of the Air Force and he was stationed 02:06.623 --> 02:10.608 here too at one point . To be on the 02:10.608 --> 02:13.889 grounds where him and my friends , you 02:13.889 --> 02:16.056 know , where , where they work , where 02:16.056 --> 02:18.222 they support our country , it's a good 02:18.222 --> 02:19.222 feeling . 02:21.850 --> 02:24.809 222 . This is my fifth marathon and 02:24.809 --> 02:26.587 this one was very unique , um , 02:27.009 --> 02:29.120 starting off , the , uh , the flyover 02:29.120 --> 02:31.176 was pretty was pretty awesome , uh , 02:31.176 --> 02:33.176 this morning , uh , the guys , uh , 02:33.176 --> 02:35.342 paratrooping in before the race . That 02:35.342 --> 02:37.342 was pretty special . I think it was 02:37.342 --> 02:39.565 around 120 . We got to honor a bunch of 02:39.565 --> 02:41.839 uh veterans who have uh put their life 02:41.839 --> 02:43.895 on the line for for the country , so 02:43.895 --> 02:46.006 that was pretty cool as well . Just a 02:46.006 --> 02:48.117 very patriotic race . I loved all the 02:48.117 --> 02:50.061 American flags Born in the USA was 02:50.061 --> 02:49.639 playing out there . It was , it was 02:49.639 --> 02:51.861 pretty it was a pretty awesome race . I 02:51.861 --> 02:53.639 really enjoyed it , yeah , very 02:53.639 --> 02:57.270 patriotic . I hope the runners take 02:57.270 --> 02:59.437 with them that they're extremely proud 02:59.437 --> 03:01.492 of their accomplishments , whichever 03:01.492 --> 03:03.630 race they end up choosing to do , and 03:03.630 --> 03:05.686 that they walk away having gotten to 03:05.686 --> 03:07.797 see a little piece of the Air Force . 03:07.797 --> 03:10.019 So the opportunity to run across Wright 03:10.019 --> 03:12.074 Patterson Air Force Base , I think . 03:12.509 --> 03:15.270 For the service marathon and so that 03:15.270 --> 03:17.270 they get to take that with them and 03:17.270 --> 03:19.437 just the experience of what an amazing 03:19.437 --> 03:21.048 community this is here , the 03:21.048 --> 03:23.103 partnership we have with the broader 03:23.103 --> 03:25.326 Dayton community and the Miami Valley , 03:25.326 --> 03:27.103 and they walk away having had a 03:27.103 --> 03:26.779 fantastic experience .
