WEBVTT 00:00.329 --> 00:04.380 (Army Sgt. 1st Class Adam Sokolowski) This year, in 2018, I was the Bianchi Cup 00:04.380 --> 00:09.630 Open champion, and that that was kind of a significant, uh, championship because 00:09.630 --> 00:15.299 we've only been started shooting this sport since 2015. So over the past three 00:15.299 --> 00:21.539 years, '16, '17, and '18, I was the Bianchi Cup national champion, so, the 00:21.539 --> 00:28.170 first person to win all three consecutively. Initially that didn't 00:28.170 --> 00:32.189 cross my mind, but once I won the metallic championship and won two in a 00:32.189 --> 00:36.120 row, I could have, you know, could have decided to go for another championship 00:36.120 --> 00:40.890 again back-to-back, but I decided to do something different and go for the Open 00:40.890 --> 00:46.440 Championship, which is the most-coveted trophy, but is also the most difficult to 00:46.440 --> 00:51.000 win. So, this year I was fortunate enough to win. I was competing against 00:51.000 --> 00:57.300 champions that are like Doug Koenig, who is a 18-time national champion. So, for me 00:57.300 --> 01:01.739 to come into the sport having -- relatively a newcomer, only shooting for the last 01:01.739 --> 01:08.159 few years -- um, and beating somebody like that, is pretty significant. Even myself 01:08.159 --> 01:11.369 initially, I didn't, you know, I wanted to go and show -- have a good showing and 01:11.369 --> 01:15.540 shoot well and represent the Army, but I didn't expect to actually come away with 01:15.540 --> 01:17.260 the championship.
